The Dorky T-Shirt Post

So, with our trip just days away, I figured I had better finally finish the t-shirts I'd planned to make.

Last year I made a few for our trip - mainly thinking it would be cute for the boys to wear around the resort - and my husband actually mentioned this year that he LIKED them!  Naturally I viewed this as carte blanche to make more this year.  Mostly I like for us to wear "nice" clothes to the parks because we have character meals and get lots of pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers so we aren't wearing them every day, and we aren't even "matching", but I do think they're fun.

Last year I used Hanes shirts and some other brand from the craft store.   They were pretty heavyweight for a t-shirt and I went looking for something lighter this year.  Found GREAT deals at Old Navy, and stocked up!

Finally, these are for our rest day which may be spent partially at Downtown Disney:



What I really like about them is that they are lightweight, cheap (so I don't care if food or whatnot is spilled on them) and they allow me to keep our nice clothes clean and non-wrinkled/sweaty for dinner.

Let me get that right out in the open.  I am honestly not a big Disney fan.  I don't have a room dedicated to Mickey Mouse (or even a shelf of knickknacks!), I don't own every Disney movie (I don't even have all the classics!), and I don't dress head to toe in red, white and black.  In fact I think I only have two sweatshirts and three hats from WDW. AND YET, I absolutely love Walt Disney World in Florida.  I don't know what it is about that place, but I just adore it.  The details, the cleanliness, the happy and helpful people.  Yeah, pretty much everything.  And it doesn't hurt that the rollercoasters are pretty much as much as I can handle.  So, even after taking a trip with the boys last year, I had the urge to go again this year and so back we are going.  We're even staying at the same resort - Wilderness Lodge. Wilderness Lodge, Narcoosee's and Hollywood Studios

On Saturday, after three fun days at the Renaissance Hotel, we checked out and headed over to Disney's Villas at Wilderness Lodge.  We stayed at the main lodge last year, in a two-room deluxe room, but this year we wanted even more space, so the villas were perfect. When we first got here, we were assigned a 5th floor room facing the bus-stops/road.  It wasn't a horrible room, but I had really wanted one on a lower floor (the fifth floor balconies have solid walls in instead of slats) and facing the pool/lake.  When I called to ask for a room change, they said there wasn't anything available, so I was willing to settle.  The boys, including Chris, got changed for the pool, and I went back to the lobby to check on a package delivery.  While I was there, I asked again about a room change (figuring that the people on the phone didn't really know anything) and was told that there WAS a room available.  They arranged to move all of our bags into it and we headed to the poo

Another Disney Day

Wednesday was supposed to be our "rest by the pool" day.  And we did get a good amount of rest-time in.  BUT, we also decided to head on back to the Magic Kingdom for the late afternoon/evening and try to make it to the Wishes! fireworks.  The boys had never seen fireworks before, so this was to be a bit of an experiment prior to the Halloween party fireworks on Friday. Resting and swimming was wonderful, as always, and I was so happy to see both boys so happy and confident in the water.  They just couldn't have been happier.  As luck would have it, just before I was thinking we'd need to start getting ourselves together to head to the park, an afternoon downpour started.  We were actually "trapped" in the pool for a few minutes, because it was coming down so hard and fast that we would have been freezing if we'd gotten out!
